Quality Assurance

The Human Services Center is committed to ensuring that its services reflect the highest standards of quality. All of the Center’s clinical and residential programs are licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, managed care organizations, the Lawrence County Client Satisfaction Team, and health insurance carriers monitor the Center’s services to ensure compliance with their standards of care. The Center welcomes this oversight of its services. For nearly 50 years, HSC has consistently received positive reviews for the quality of its services and its adherence to sound principles of clinical care.

The Center has an active quality assurance committee that meets on a regular basis. It is comprised of clinicians and management employees, and is chaired by the Center’s Director of Clinical Services.

Each year, the Center’s quality assurance committee conducts a satisfaction survey. A reflection of the quality of the Center’s services is the fact that an average of 98.5% of clients surveyed from 2005-2010 rated HSC’s services as “good – excellent.”

The Center supports its clinical staff in maintaining their licenses and credentials by offering on-site staff development programs. HSC has partnered with Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) to provide educational programs that are accredited by the National Association of Social Workers, the National Board of Certified Counselors, the Council for Medical Education, the American Psychological Association, the Association for Addiction Professionals, the Department of Public Welfare, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Pennsylvania Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services.
