PAY RANGE$75,000  to  $90,000

Incumbent reports to the Executive Director.

Responsible for all fiscal, accounting, and budget function of Human Services Center, including the following:

  • Formulation of budget for entire agency. Coordinates with Director of Clinical Services and Program Directors to construct budgets for each area.
  • Supervises all accounting personnel consisting of professional, technical, and clerical staff.
  • Responsible for all fiscal reports to satisfy federal, state, county, and Center requirements.
  • Participates as part of the administrative team for contract negotiations with the county, union, and other providers.
  • Meets monthly with Finance Committee of the Board of Directors and provides information on financial status of the Center. Attends HSC Board Meetings as part of the financial reporting process.
  • Directs preparation of payroll.
  • Analyzes data and prepares documentation, financial statements, and reports to Executive Director and Board Finance Committee for control and account for funds.
  • Monitors fee-for-service programs and manages investments as directed by the Board Finance Committee.
  • Provides financial input to various Center committees when requested.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates external audit, and performs internal audit procedures as needed.
  • Install and maintains systems for providing cost data.
  • Administers accounting systems within the current MIS system.
  • Acts as liaison with County MH/DS Administrator’s Office on county budget.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and staffing a comprehensive, responsive information system which will meet requirements of internal users and external needs. Supervises MIS Director, ensuring departmental goals are consistent with the needs of the Center.
  • Others duties as assigned by the Executive Director.


A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and a minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in accounting for a Behavioral Health nonprofit organization. MBA. CPA and other nonprofit experience preferred as well as experience in non-profit organization senior/management accounting role is preferred. Experience with Insurance and contract invoicing preferred. Proficiency in using accounting software and a spreadsheet program; competency in using the internet; excellent written and verbal communication skills; Acts 33/34 clearances; a valid driver’s license; and demonstrated empathy and commitment to the mission and the people we serve.—collaborative work style, with the ability to operate in a mission-centric manner that is inclusive and team-oriented.
